Professor of Political Science

With over a decade of experience in the realm of political science, state government, research and advocacy, I am educating students on the importance of the democratic process and global political issues. I am committed to fostering a culture of civic engagement and public service. I am passionate about curriculum design in Government and Politics in a way that engages students and inspires them to use their voice and become activists in their communities.

I formerly directed a leadership program addressing the under-representation of women in politics and public service at the University of Oklahoma, while also chairing the student civic engagement organization, Oklahoma Votes. I have worked as a partner with a non-profit firm that saw legislative success in the state of Nebraska in early childhood education. Through my work, I have empowered emerging leaders and fortified partnerships with local and national entities.

My research experience grew under a prominent fellowship with USSTRATCOM and the University of Nebraska studying the sustainability of terrorist organizations and their leadership structures using a data-driven speech coding model to break down the legitimacy of ISIS. Our work was published in the Journal of Studies in Conflict and Terrorism in 2016.

Currently, I am teaching at the University of Central Oklahoma.
